I hope you continue to get better and will continue to pray for you. PLANO – Teatro delle Muse has announced an entire inaugural season in residence at Plano's ArtCentre Theatre, and sure enough, it has led with High School Musical as its initial offering. Actors carrying a big show just don't get much younger than these: In the cast I saw Saturday evening, one of the romantic leads hasn't started high school yet.

In the performance I saw, at least, most of the central roles came off very well. These young people didn't exactly just walk in off the street. A number of them have performed for adult companies all over the area. Many have studied extensively at children's theaters such as Arlington's CATS (Creative Arts Theatre and School). Two sisters in the show have teamed up with a third to sing the national anthem at a Rangers game. Some of these kids already have agents.
Curt Mega and Brittany Stene are terrific as the leads.

Ms. Brittany Stene is the quintessential “triple threat,” a term used by directors to describe one equally accomplished in singing, dancing and acting. A rarity, usually found in only the most dedicated of individuals. There is little doubt in anyone’s mind that one day this young woman will reach such extraordinary heights, that the stars in the skies will be rivaled.

Brittany is a 16-year old talented musical theater performer whose career and life have been temporarily derailed by osteosarcoma; bone cancer of the leg. What started out as a seemingly harmless dance injury was revealed as a life-threatening disease. For the past year, she's undergone a brutal regimen of chemotherapy and radiation that has taken her hair, but not her spirit. Thankfully, Brittany is now in remission and on her way back to pursuing her dream of being on Broadway.

Brittany is having a birthday party at the end of April and wanted Kidd to attend, but unfortunately he's booked to do a TV show in Los Angeles. So Kidd is throwing his own Sweet Sixteen party for Brittany at The House of Blues....and she can invite ONE HUNDRED of her closest friends.
